As Summer 2024 draws to a close, we’d like to reflect on the accomplishments of the summer interns at our Leonardo Electronic US Tucson facility for the last ten weeks. The five summer interns include the following: Victor Oviedo (Product Development intern), Ryan Ramsden (Mechanical Design intern), Simon Ngandu (Electrical Engineering intern), Bobby Sulzbach (Mechanical Design intern), and Humberto Rojas (Quality and Process Engineering intern). At Leonardo, interns are not just hired to observe what it is like to work in our facilities; they are actively engaged in various aspects of our operations. By gaining this hands-on experience, our interns are better prepared to be problem-solving, hardworking, and collaborative workers of tomorrow. In short, the Summer 2024 interns have bright futures ahead of them.
Under the guidance of various supervisors at Leonardo, our interns undertook a range of projects that will significantly shape the future growth of our organization. Each intern shared their findings with the entire company at the end of their internship. Their focus was on different aspects of company operations, with some collaborative efforts along the way. The interns began by outlining their original objectives and expected outcomes during their presentations. They then presented the progression of their projects from the brainstorming stage to the final product, including improvement plans. All the projects discussed by the interns will be utilized, either in part or in full, by our teams in the future, paving the way for our continued success.
Besides the tangible contributions of our Summer 2024 interns, they have also gained invaluable skills that will help them along their life path. Their presentations specifically mentioned the lessons they learned about problem-solving, looking at issues from multiple perspectives, attention to detail, and broad thinking.
