President Ronald Reagan once said, 'Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have made a difference in the world.  A veteran does not have that problem.'

The selfless contribution made by veterans and their families so that the rest of us can live free under our inalienable rights depicted in the Constitution represents the glue that holds this nation together and allows us to help so many others. As for the vets, I have the honor of working with today, they continue their service steadfastly, ensuring soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, guardsmen, and guardians all have the resources and technology they need to protect the American way of life. Many vets may know exactly the difference they made, but many also will never completely know how many lives their bravery, courage, sacrifice, and commitment have so positively affected. We all owe our vets and our servicemen immeasurable gratitude.

Veteran's Employee Resource Group

VERG (Veterans Employee Resource Group) is a dynamic, employee-led volunteer group dedicated to serving as a valuable resource for its members at Leonardo. This group serves multiple purposes, benefiting both veteran and non-veteran employees.

Our Veteran's Employee Resource Group provides veteran employees a safe place to meet, collaborate, and learn. This mentoring platform allows veterans to learn how to build a civilian career and navigate their professional lives.

VERG educates non-veteran employees about the valuable assets veterans bring to work, helps dispel myths around the military experience, and elevates the company’s brand as a Veteran Friendly Employer.

VERG provides:

  • A leader who champions the issues, needs, and opportunities of the group, as well as identifies gaps in resources.
  • A clear purpose by providing mentoring and support to veteran employees.
  • Resources to create program materials, build online tools (websites, blogs, chat forums), and host networking and educational events.
  • Feedback mechanisms for comments and support which help create a culture of exclusivity and commitment among veteran employees.
  • Meetings to discuss VERG events match vets with buddies, etc.

Vet Buddies

VERG provides support and camaraderie for veteran employees by buddying up with others who have shared experiences. Vet buddies are matched based on business unit. Each mentor:

  • Assists with personal and professional growth in the company

  • Helps adjust to the civilian workplace

  • Provides feedback on the system for future improvements
