Quality Assurance Specialist 

The QA Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products and services meet specific requirements for Leonardo Electronics US Inc. and its Customers. This position will support activities to maintain compliance with quality standards and support the Company’s internal quality goals and objectives.

Duties

  • Will support the Quality Assurance function in Huntsville, reporting to the QA Manager. 
  • Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization. 
  • Will follow and enforce company quality system requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to assure products, services, and operations meet all customer and regulatory requirements. 
  • Review production documents, work instructions and engineering drawings for inclusion of quality requirements and recommend appropriate inspection areas. 
  • Responsible for internal product inspection and release. 
  • Provide QA metrics and input to the QA Manager. 
  • Conduct Internal and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits as required. 
  • Will process Improvement Action Requests and Non Conformance Reports. 
  • Participate in team initiatives such as planning and formulating quality procedures. 
  • Recommend cost saving solutions and corrective actions. 
  • Identify relevant quality-related training needs and report to QA Manager. 
  • Support quality initiatives and provide assistance to other company locations, as required. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Occasional domestic travel estimated at 5%. Must be willing to travel internationally, though not anticipated. Shift work/overtime may be required.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Associate Degree and 3 years’ experience preferred. ASQ certified training or equivalent a plus. 
  • Must be detail oriented and customer focused. 
  • Excellent communications skills, both orally and written. 
  • Quality experience in Aerospace Manufacturing and Overhaul/Repair programs preferred. 
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems. 
  • Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development. 
  • Experience in Supplier Quality Assurance a plus. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
