Program Manager

Program Manager for multiple Product Development programs within the Sensor Solutions line of business.  The program manager will be active in all phases of the program lifecycle from initiation (including proposal development), planning, execution, and closure.  

The program manager will be responsible for cost, schedule, and performance for multiple programs currently being executed within Sensor Solutions. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for the development of new business that will grow the LEI footprint in the aviation business sector and provide generous business opportunities.

Duties

  • Plan project execution and develop project management plans including schedules, budgets, risk management to attainment of project scope
  • Maintain project schedules and report status to customers and company management
  • Manage project budgets and prepare cost status reports
  • Manage project risk including risk identification, management of reserves and coordination of mitigation and contingency plans
  • Manage project scope and ensure the quality of project deliverables 
  • Manage staffing requirements to meet project objectives 
  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Project Team Members and Company Leadership 
  • Review/approve project deliverables/documentation
  • Support the capture strategy for US Army and other DoD opportunities 
  • Develop and maintain customer, supplier, and partner relationships 

 

Skills/Qualifications

  • 10-15 years minimum experience with defense projects and products
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or Defense Acquisition University Equivalent
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a technical/engineering team as well as work independently
  • Self-starter, willingness to take initiative is critical for this position

Desired Skills

  • Project Management experience with defense products and programs
  • Knowledge of DoD Industry and the defense acquisition process 
  • Knowledge of avionics, electronic warfare, and integrated survivability systems
  • Knowledge of software and hardware development process
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle and systems engineering principles 
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a Business or Technical Field.
  • Master’s Degree in business administration a plus.
