Logistics Supervisor

The ideal candidate will be a strong individual contributor with the ability to effectively collaborate with these functions to develop and implement tactical goals, influence system solutions, facilitate forward thinking initiatives to include streamlining and logistics integrating processes, and incorporate best-in-class reliable solutions for customer requirements.

Oversees logistics planning activities, processes and personnel associated with material receipt, shipment, strategic warehouse management, setting work schedules as required to achieve an effective and smooth material flow.

  • Adhere & support compliance with all regulations internal/external audit protocols.
  • Primary contact for all matters concerning critical management assets, equipment, special tooling, material.
  • Production, indirect and miscellaneous material is moved within the plant and surroundings areas into multiple locations.
  • Responsible for logistics services contracts including the daily operational activities of supporting operations and inbound/outbounds materials.
  • Coordination of inbound material control, carrier collaboration, establishing milk runs, 3PL services, plant site material logistics, and managing supermarkets and kitting processes at the warehouse.
  • Responsible for optimizing material flow throughout the site, ensuring availability of needed resources, to include operating personnel and material handling equipment, always working to eliminate traffic bottlenecks.
  • Support a culture of improvement and efficiency into the logistics/property organization driving innovative solutions and affordability.
  • Provides management for the development and implementation of cost-effective material handling plans, including purchased logistics services, and material handling equipment.
  • Plans for future material handling needs, equipment, manpower, requirements and prepares operating budget for assigned areas.
  • Supervises daily activities of staff by coaching, delegating, monitoring progress and providing direction and technical support.
  • Responsible for multiple shift operation and sets of general policy including schedules to be followed on all available shifts, servicing production area needs in off shift core hours.
  • Lead & take action on Key Performance Indicators.
  • Challenge is to implement cost effective projects within acceptable parameters for schedule, budget, cost reduction and return of investment while providing no operation disruption and quality service to customers.
  • Plans the layout of the warehouse to ensure efficiency and orderly layout for easy location access of all items.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, industrial engineering, business or related field.
  • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 additional years of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in related field.
  • Experience in government property and federal acquisition regulations (FAR) compliance areas.
  • Well develop communication skills, both oral and written, to ensure effective collaboration with Property, Logistics, Procurement, Production Control, Contracts, Programs and the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
  • Understanding of 6 sigma project management and/or Lean principles.
  • Solid Logistics and manufacturing knowledge.
  • Develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems.
  • Possess forklift certification and able to train others on forklift operations, as well as manual labor and pallet jacks.
  • Decision Making & Critical Thinking.
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD is highly desired.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, SYSPRO) is highly desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Tableau.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships based on mutual respect with peers, customers and team members.
  • Self-starter who requires minimal supervision, as well as the ability to manage priorities.
