IT System Engineer 

Contribute to the development, testing, evaluation, design and support of IT systems or infrastructure. Performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of applications. Job focus is to support internal company programs and operations.

Duties

  • Accomplishes information technology and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Define and maintain reporting on systems and network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information, and managing tasks and projects.
  • Maximize and improve systems and network performance by monitoring, troubleshooting problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with architects on opportunities for improvement.
  • Secures systems and network by establishing and enforcing policies, defining, and controlling access and maintaining audit logs for annual audits. 
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Document all processes and procedures to meet NIST 800-171 requirements. 

Skills/Qualifications

  • 7 years of applicable/related experience or 5 years equivalent experience 
  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Networking, Storage and Windows Server OS 
  • Advanced scripting skills: with PowerShell, VBScript, etc.
  • Windows, Veeam, and Azure Backup experience
  • Experienced with configuring Azure systems for disaster recovery failover 
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server administration
  • Industry standard certifications: MCSE, MCDBA, VMWare, Cisco
  • Self-starter with effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experienced with Cyber Security Compliance. Ex. NIST 800-171

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer-related field preferred
  • CISSP, CCSP, or CISM Certification or equivalent

Special Considerations

  • Domestic travel required (Future)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance
