Inventory Control Supervisor

Oversees every aspect of inventory management, this includes everything from tracking to conducting an inventory audit to physical inventory to ensure adequate stockrooms inventory levels are maintained. In charge for developing end to end strategies for an optimum material flow & storage.  Monitors completeness, accuracy, and compliance during inventory movement transactions. Responsible for developing & reporting KPI’s to Senior Management.

Duties

  • Oversees team of inventory control personnel.
  • In charge of developing the Annual Physical Inventory project plan and to coordinate all end-to-end key activities.
  • Manage inventory tracking system to record all inventory counts whether it’s physical counts, cycle counts, data from perpetual, to ensure consistency, accuracy, to anticipate inventory issues.
  • Perform inventory audits regularly to uncover any problems.
    Monitor and ensure accuracy of all inventory transactions and maintain records of all stockroom locations.
  • Leads Root Cause & Corrective Actions analysis for inventory discrepancies.
  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining efficient material flow - handling and storage by utilizing Inventory Management best practices, such as Plan for Every Part (PFEP) method.
  • Create, implement and/or Improve inventory control procedures.
  • Maintain & develop inventory control KPI’s & dashboards for weekly management review.
  • Manages the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.
  • Proposes & lead strategies to reduce cost and improve procedures of inventory control management.
  • Support a lean culture of improvement and efficiency into the inventory control organization driving innovative solutions, affordability and eliminate waste.
  • Monitor maintenance schedules for all equipment & tools to perform inventory control activities.
  • Apply lean methodologies to reduce material waste, effort and time trough continuous improvement as well optimize material flow & on time delivery.
  • Communicates with inventory control team & operations key players to meet business goals and address potential issues.
  • Foster effective and cordial relationships with internal/external clients.
  • Provide assistance and direction to colleagues and subordinates as required.
  • Ensure proper management of aging and excess stocks.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, business or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience using lean initiatives to manage inventory. (Kanban, Milk runs, Kitting, PFEP).
  • Develop and deploy creative / original solutions to complex problems.
  • Verbal & written communication, Organizational and inventory management skills, strong attention to detail, problem solving, data analysis.
  • Decision Making & Critical Thinking.
  • Clean room environment must be willing to clean room attire for the duration of the shift while in the clean room.
  • Experience working with inventory management software and forecasting strategies.
  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, CLTD is highly desired.
  • Product & inventory management certification a plus.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, SYSPRO) is highly desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Tableau.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships based on mutual respect with peers, customers and team members.
  • Self-starter who requires minimal supervision, as well as the ability to manage priorities.
