Develop embedded system solutions for laser electronics and laser test electronics that generally consist of a mixture of programmable logic devices (FPGA/microcontroller), sensor interfaces, ADC/DAC, buffers, and memory. Be an active part of the electrical design team developing innovative solutions to support the performance of state-of-the-art laser products. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, self-motivated, results oriented, and will work well in a team environment.

Leadership of all aspects of embedded systems design through:
MSEE degree OR a BSEE degree and 2+ years of embedded systems development experience. Experience designing electronics for embedded systems. Experience defining FPGA & Processor requirements. Experience interfacing a microcontroller with peripheral analog devices devices (sensors, buffers, ADC, DAC) and digital devices (memory and programmable logic {SPI, SCI, I2C etc.}). Must be familiar with testing and troubleshooting using common electrical lab equipment (oscilloscope, signal generator, power supply, logic analyzer etc.). Experience composing and debugging embedded software/firmware. Must be able to maintain revision control on work products (bills of materials, software, drawings, etc.). Experience in tracking and reporting tasks to achieve schedule requirements
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Experience developing products for Military, Aerospace and/or Medical markets. Experience with product qualification and verification testing. Ability to investigate and establish the root cause of failure and prescribe corrective action – particularly in areas such as EMC and at edges of the environmental envelope. Experience utilizing a structured design & development process. Familiarity with the circuit board manufacturing process (data package generation, quoting, PCB fabrication, board assembly, etc.). Experience with common serial communication standards (RS232, RS422, RS485, etc.). Ability to work with internal/external suppliers and procurement. Experience working with suppliers or managing sub-contracted activities. Experience designing circuits using Altium Designer CAD tools. Experience simulating circuits using OrCAD PSpice.
