Cost, Price Data Analyst

The Cost & Pricing Data Analyst will be responsible for compiling cost and schedule in the development of Customer proposals and the cost analysis of proposals submitted by the supply chain to ensure compliance with US Government FAR requirements.  They will be key in ensuring that Leonardo Electronics US Inc (LEI) can maintain activities required for DCAA/DCMA audits.

Maintaining a DCAA/DCMA compliant system is a key element in the success of LEI to both retain and grow existing business and to assist in securing new business.  The Cost & Pricing Data Analyst will liaise closely with the SCMS, Contracts and Finance management teams to ensure effective support to the business.

  • Compile cost and schedule elements in the development of proposals.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret supplier proposals for use in budget preparation.
  • Coordinate the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance elements from functional departments
  • Research and analyze historical data and develop cost models to support proposal efforts
  • Participate in should-cost and pricing reviews with management, customer and supplier representatives
  • Document the subcontract position in a formal Cost Analysis Report (CAR) for proposal support
  • Prepare and document priced Bill of Material and Material (BOM) cost estimate development
  • Support all audits, fact-finding, price updates, negotiations, and certifications
  • Provide negotiation support throughout contract and subcontract process
  • Provide estimate at completion for supplier cost as requested
  • Complete and maintain activities required for DCAA/DCMA audits
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to help develop pricing support for contract modifications

    Other work assignments not mentioned are assumed included and will be determined and would be in conformity with the value assigned to this role.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrates understanding in material estimating and cost/price analysis both in support of customer proposals and review of supplier proposals.
  • Must have strong relationship skills and a demonstrated ability to work within a team
  • Self-starter with ability to work with limited supervision
  • Must be able to communicate at all levels within an organization both orally and written. Must be results oriented and customer focused
  • Has a professional and ethical approach within the Supply Chain, with colleagues, and with Customers always.
  • An ability to prioritize and respond dynamically to a changing environment.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working on DoD Proposals and Contracts is preferred.
  • Must be able to perform and apply cost/estimating and pricing principles to review and analyze supplier cost and pricing data.
  • Understanding of ITAR, FAR and DFAR and other regulatory requirements is required.
