Business Development

A technical business development role requiring the development of key accounts and sales channels within the industrial material processing markets. At a technical level, become well versed in Lasertel’s core competencies, technologies and products and have the ability to effectively communicate these to customers. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to develop business plans, meet sales goals and achieve customer satisfaction. Perform a variety of tasks interfacing directly with the customer engineering, production and business personnel.

  • Market research and analysis
  • International sales channel development
  • Review and evaluate customer technical requirements
  • Support customers through the entire sales process (identification, qualification, quotation, order, delivery and follow up) through use of established sales processes
  • Support development of collateral and marketing data: Product data sheets, specifications, application notes
  • Meet established sales goals for products and services in support of the overall sales plan
  • Prepare and present sales proposals and quotations
  • Assist with tradeshows and sales exhibit planning
  • Organize and attend meetings at customer locations (travel is required both domestic and international)
  • Contribute to development of market strategies and goals
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning by monitoring and analyzing sales data, researching, developing and maintaining long (3-5 year) and short (quarterly) range sales forecasts
  • Customer focused - develop and maintain positive professional relationships with customers
  • Establish strong working relationships with internal staff


The ideal candidate offers the following:

  • 5 years + experience in laser technology technical sales, especially in the field of industrial material processing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration, Advanced degree (MBA,MS) beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to interpret industry needs and directions, assess capacity, and to plan, develop, and implement appropriate sales and marketing strategies.
